Position Overview
AP Services is building a network of Special Education Teachers for on-site placements with schools across the Greater Chicago area. Openings vary by school and grade band.
- 1099 independent contractor — not a W-2 position
- On-site, school-year placements
- K-12 assignments across the Greater Chicago area
- Direct, in-person instruction and IEP case management
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with IDEA and state special education regulations
- Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities individually and in small groups
- Collaborate with general education teachers on accommodations, modifications, and co-teaching where applicable
- Monitor, document, and report student progress toward IEP goals
- Participate in IEP, eligibility, and annual review meetings as case manager
Qualifications
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS1) endorsement
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
- Prior classroom experience preferred
